Sea Turtle OSRS – Healing, Cooking, and Market Details

Sea turtle OSRS is a high-healing, one-click food for players who want something a notch above sharks without committing to manta ray pricing. Whether you're gearing up for a high-level Slayer task or a bossing trip where every inventory slot counts, these turtles offer a practical compromise between budget and performance.

Sea Turtle OSRS

What is a Sea Turtle?

A sea turtle is the cooked form of raw sea turtle OSRS, a members-only item. Cooking it needs level 82, and eating one restores 21 Hitpoints in a single bite, putting it among OSRS’s top-tier "standard" foods.

The Sea Turtle is the cooked form of raw sea turtle OSRS, a members-only food item obtained primarily through the Fishing Trawler. Requiring level 82 Cooking to prepare successfully, they sit in that perfect "sweet spot" for PvM: they heal 21 Hitpoints, making them a direct upgrade over the standard Shark (20 HP) while staying significantly cheaper than Manta Rays (22 HP).

Acquisition

Raw sea turtles come from a few places, with the Fishing Trawler being the classic route, but not the only one. You can obtain raw sea turtles via:

  • Drift net fishing at Fossil Island (at higher Fishing).

  • A bowl of fish purchased from Mairin’s Market (underwater Fossil Island), which can yield sea turtles, among other fish.

From there, most players either cook them for supplies/XP or buy the cooked sea turtle directly from the Grand Exchange.

Usage

Since they heal 21 HP per slot, cooked sea turtles are a fantastic choice for high-level bossing, Slayer tasks, and even PKing. If you’re coming over from RuneScape 3, keep in mind the mechanics are quite different: OSRS sea turtles always heal a flat 21 HP, whereas the RS3 version scales with your Constitution level and can restore much more health at higher levels.

Comparison with Other Foods

When do you stop burning sea turtles OSRS matters in food planning. Sea Turtles are a bit unique because they are surprisingly difficult to cook perfectly. Even at Level 99, you will continue to burn them. To reach a 0% burn rate, you’ll need to hit Level 99 Cooking or wear the Cooking Cape to cook them successfully.

If you’re willing to risk a few burns while cooking, switching from Sharks to Sea Turtles is a solid way to squeeze an extra point of healing into every inventory slot.

Market Information

As of December 21, 2025, the official OSRS Grand Exchange guide prices show:

  • Sea turtle – 1,475 gp.

  • Raw sea turtle – 1,127 gp.

Since the official GE site doesn’t show buy limits, you'll need to rely on community trackers. Current data puts the cap at 10,000 per 4 hours for cooked sea turtles and 15,000 per 4 hours for raw sea turtles. Always verify these numbers before committing to a bulk buy or a massive investment.

If you like alternate rule sets, browsing top Runescape private servers can be a fun side quest, with custom drops that change how OSRS sea turtles circulate.

Trivia

The examine text for a Sea Turtle is a short description, saying "Tasty." Because these turtles are tied to minigame reward pools rather than standard fishing spots, their supply is constantly shifting. When player activity in the Fishing Trawler dips, expect to see those prices ripple across the Grand Exchange for both raw and cooked stock.
